Over the next seven months, the Alzheimer’s Association will sponsor a free caregiver support group at Peconic Bay Medical Center.
According to the association, “support groups are designed to provide emotional, educational and social support to caregivers through regularly scheduled meetings. They help participants develop methods and skills to solve problems while encouraging caregivers to maintain their own personal, physical and emotional health.”
The first meeting of the group is on Wednesday, Dec. 20 at noon at the hospital. Each month thereafter, the group will meet on the third Wednesday of the month. The dates scheduled are Jan, 17, Feb. 21, Mar. 21, Apr. 18, May 16, and June 20.
