Two to four inches of snow is expected to fall today across Suffolk County as a low pressure system off the south Atlantic coast moves to the northeast and tracks south of Long Island, according to the National Weather Service.
A winter weather advisory is in effect from 10 a.m. until 10 p.m. today.
Light snow will arrive in the area this morning, the weather service said.
Motorists should expect slippery road conditions throughout the day, according to the advisory. “Be prepared for snow-covered roads and limited visibilities, and use caution while driving,” the NWS said in the advisory.
Temperatures will be cold today with highs in the mid 20s and lows of about 15 tonight.
