Revamped former Four Doors Down in Mattituck re-opens soon with new name, chef, menu

Tanya McDowell, longtime server and dining manager at The Crazy Fork in Mattituck, has some news this week about big happenings at both the Crazy Fork and Four Doors Down, right next door.

Beginning on April 2, The Crazy Fork will be serving a brand-new menu at the former Four Doors Down, with Chef Eric D. Linker, formerly of Digger’s in Riverhead, dishing up favorites including marinated steak tidbits, pork tostada, assorted thin crust pizzas, barbecued ribs and chicken. Food will be served seven days a week under his helm.

Currently, the eatery, which has a new name “Crazy Fork at Four Doors,” is undergoing a renovation, giving the eatery a “facelift, and an entirely new menu,” McDowell said. Four Doors, she said, will “feature a new atmosphere, with new, lighter and brighter decor and a full dining room.”

Crazy Fork will be running the kitchen at Four Doors, McDowell said.

Linker has also served as chef at Porto Bello in Greenport and has been cooking since he was just 15.

“I’ve been living on the North Fork for the past 30 years as has my mother Barbara and father Edward, and am now raising my son out here. With this new opportunity it allows me to grow deeper roots in our community. It allows me be to part of the revival of this long standing business and hopefully bring more good food and atmosphere to our North Fork and especially Mattituck,” Linker said.

McDowell had another big announcement: She’s now general manager and co-owner of the The Crazy Fork with Danielle Grzegorczyk.

Of the revamp to Four Doors, Grzegorczyk said, “I am so excited to get the opportunity to work with this great team to provide great service and a unique pub menu, and to hopefully restore the patronage from the Coach Stoppe days.”
