Road paving work on Front Street in Greenport is scheduled for the coming week.
According to information on the Village of Greenport’s website, the schedule will include milling on Monday night from 9 p.m. until 5 a.m.
Next, on Tuesday, underlayment preparation will take place from 9 p.m. until 5 a.m.
On Wednesday night, from 9 p.m. until 5 a.m., paving will kick off. And on Thursday night, during the same hours, striping will take place.
The schedule is weather permitting and may change, according to the village website.
For months, residents have been crying out about the state of the village’s roads and asking for much-needed repairs. Road repair became an important during the recent campaign season, with candidates vowing to address the situation.
