Blue skies and sunshine greeted those who turned out for the first Memorial Day parade of the morning, which took place at the Orient Fire Department.
The Orient Fire Department’s Memorial Day parade, a beloved annual tradition, began at 7:30 a.m. at the firehouse on Main Road and headed to Tabor Road, then to Orchard Street, along to Navy Street and Village Lane and finally, to Main Road and back to the firehouse.
Residents dressed in red, white and blue brought their four-legged friends along for the fun.
