After the votes were tallied, Nick Deegan took home a Mattituck Park District commissioner’s seat in yesterday’s election.
Deegan won with 243 votes; his challenger, incumbent Russell Williamson, whose term was up, garnered 136.
The three commissioners each serve three year-term.
It’s not Deegan’s first go-round at the post; he’s served in the past, according to district clerk Lynne Krauza.
Reflecting on the race, she noted, “It was a very good turnout.”
