The Harlem Wizards wowed a crowd at Southold High School gymnasium last night with their world famous “tricks, hoops and alley-oops.”
Southold teachers did not back down when faced with the basketball stars, taking them on in a slightly mismatched game. A team of “Wiz Kids” also took to the court, competing in fun and whacky challenges against the five-man team.
Though the competition was fierce, it was all for a good cause. The event raised money for the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation in the name of Ericka Rose Auer, a 2014 Southold High School graduate who lost her battle with the disease in November 2014. Ericka was a fan of the Wizards, having attended each Wizards performance with her father since she was in elementary school. Proceeds from ticket and merchandise sales will be donated to the foundation.
