The Porters cruised past the McGann-Mercy Monarchs 40-0 in yesterday’s season opener in Riverhead.
Porters quarterback Jordan Fonseca and running back Keegan Syron had two touchdowns each. A solid Porters defense shut down McGann-Mercy, which was plagued by penalties.
Next week the Porters play their first home game of the season, taking on the Center Moriches Red Devils (0-1). The Red Devils lost their season opener last night to the L.I. champion Shoreham-Wading River Wildcats, in a 56-0 Wildcats blowout in Shoreham. Kickoff next Friday is 7 p.m.
