Barbara Jobst, of Greenport, formerly of Baldwin and Southampton, died on May 12, 2017 at the Kanas Center for Hospice Care, surrounded by her loving family. She was 87 years old.
She was the beloved only child of John and Babette Jobst, who immigrated to this country from Germany and together began Jobst Bakery in Baldwin. She would continue the family bakery business with her husband, Henry Heppt, and together they raised three children Barbara, Henry and Laurinda.
She will be buried next to her parents in St. Charles Cemetery.
The family has suggested that memorial donations be made to the Kansas Center for Hospice Care, P.O. Box 1048, Westhampton Beach, New York 11978.
Her life will be privately celebrated by her family.
Arrangements were entrusted to the Horton-Mathie Funeral Home in Greenport.
