On May 17, Janice Claudio of Claudio’s Restaurant in Greenport phoned police after observing two unknown subjects attempting to dock their boat at a dock attached to Claudio’s property. When Claudio asked that they move their boat, the men refused. Police arrived and after determining who the subjects were, they contacted the boat’s owner, who stated that he hired the subjects to launch his boat and secure it at the dock, which he said he had permission to do from the dock owner. Claudio’s lawyer responded to the location and stated that the dock in question had been tied up in litigation for years. William Claudio stated that when he purchased the property the dock was on, he obtained full ownership and control over the dock and that it stated this clearly on his land deed. The boat owner, who was on vacation, stated that in an attempt to avoid further confrontation, he would have the boat moved. Since it was late at night, it was agreed that the boat would be moved in the morning.

A Mattituck man notified police on May 18 that $100 worth of damage had been done to windows at his house. Police are investigating.
