North Fork students pick up Teeny Award honors at 15th annual ceremonies

The 15th Annual Teeny Awards were presented yesterday in formal ceremonies at Southampton High School.

And the winners were:

Lead Male in a Play- tie:
Alex Bradley in the role of Merle in “You Can’t Beat the House” at Mattituck High School, and Matthew Schiavoni in the role of Elwood P. Dowd in “Harvey” at Pierson High School.

Lead Female in a Play
Colleen Kelly in the role of Howie in “You Can’t Beat the House” at Mattituck

Supporting Male in a Play
Connor Vaccariello in the role of Dave in “Almost Maine” at Southold/Greenport Drama

Supporting Female in a Play
Alexandra Meli in the role of Polly in “Play On!” at Shoreham-Wading River

Christiaan Padavan in the role of Gomez in “Addams Family” at Hampton Bays

Judges’ Choice Award
This award is chosen by the judges in a vote. It is for a particular scene, musical number, dance number, ensemble effort, or group that the judges feel stands out enough to warrant the special recognition.

This year, the recipient is the musical number “Carnival” from “In The Heights” at East Hampton for their energy and celebration of diversity on stage!

The Teeny Awards are coordinated and presented by East End Arts. This year’s Teeny Awards Ceremony was hosted by Walker Vreeland, radio personality, producer, writer, actor, singer, and voice-over artist.

The program yesterday included performances of “Mama I’m a Big Girl Now” from Hairspray (Riverhead High School), “Stumble Along” from The Drowsy Chaperone (Mattituck High School), “One Day More” from Les Misérables (Southold High School) and “Pray” from Once On This Island (Greenport High School).
